Peer Led support
Our mission is to educate, accompany, and support individuals and families affected by suicide and substance use disorder while helping our communities understand substance use disorder for what modern medicine has shown it to be: a medically diagnosable, chronic, treatable illness. As Catholics, we also recognize that every person who struggles with addiction possesses an inviolable dignity as a beloved son or daughter of God. Support groups for survivors of traumatic loss led by trained survivors. We offer a safe place for shared experiences and healing on line and in person.
Individual Companionship
You may not be ready for a group setting because your loss is recent or you're not comfortable sharing in a group. We offer individual peer support on line and in person with a trained traumatic loss survivor. Contact support@materdolorosa.online for more information.
ITHIRST SPIRITUAL COMPANIONS
For women who have suffered a loss to substance use, including those in recovery. Individual support on line or in person with a certified iTHIRST Spiritual Companion.
Rooted in the compassionate heart of Christ and guided by Our Lady of Sorrows, Mater Dolorosa’s iTHIRST Peer Companionship offers a sacred space for those grieving loss in all its forms; death, broken trust, wounded faith, lost relationships, and life transitions. We walk alongside one another as companions, not fixing or advising, but listening, praying, and gently inviting each person to encounter God in the midst of their suffering. Through the gifts of presence, prayer, and when desired, the sacraments and Eucharistic Adoration, we honor each person’s story and trust that healing unfolds through surrender to God’s love.
